What is the name of this movie?!?

all i remember is that i there was a little boy and a little girl that were brother and sister. the little girl might have been adopted but im pretty sure she was sexually abused. she took everything out on her younger brother and at one point pushed him down the stairs and started slamming his head against the con create floor. the title is something to do with a hear or a rose i think but im probably wrong.
